Thomas the Train Comes to Town!

Today, Thomas the Tank Engine came to Fremont, NE! This is a yearly event for the town. Grammy Mary volunteers as a "happy helper" each year. We got there early to enjoy close parking, beautiful weather, a small crowd and lots to do!

We didn't ride Thomas the Train. His price was a little too steep for us. I promised London that next year I'd bring lots & lots & lots of money (as she put it) so we could do everything the even had to offer. See you next year, Thomas!

Toot! Toot!!

Sprinkler Fun

Since getting to the swimming pool hasn't been the breeze we expected it to be (unusually rainy weather), London had to make-do with the neighbors sprinkler. She didn't mind. And, for the record - No, she did NOT want it any higher than that!

Kirby, on the other hand, was wholly unimpressed.

Typical Day In The Life.

London helping me make mini brownie cupcakes. I like the little ones because you can just pop one in your mouth for a big dose of chocolate but not a lot of guilt. Kirby feels the same way.

Speaking of Kirby...

Are you tired of the sleeping pictures yet? I'm not. I could do this all day except he doesn't sleep all day. Pity. Notice his hands? Yeah, he had socks on his feet when I put him down but I guess he felt they were better suited elsewhere.

Just another lazy day here at the Saggau House. London has t-ball practice later tonight and her second of four games on Wednesday. You can be sure I'm taking pictures but I'm not going to post anything until it's all said and done. I hope to put everything together in a video.

Love to you all!

Bowling 101

I took the kids bowling today for the first time in their precious little lives. They loved it! And, since it was CHEAP, we'll be doing it again soon! Here are some pics:

Here's a cute video of Kirby. Sorry about the sideways view. I forget that I can't flip the image on a video.

South Dakota Trip

We headed out Monday afternoon after picking London up from preschool. We had planned on splitting the drive between two days but the kids did so well in the car that we made it in one. We had a great time at Aunt Sally's place in Deadwood. A beautiful place plus a beautiful hostess means many return trips in the future. No point in making the beds, Sally - we'll be back soon!

London sporting her Burger King crown, ready to hit the road.

Toward the end of the roadtrip, Kirby was getting tired. He held his hand out to London and asked in his tired little baby voice, "Hold my hand, please". So sweet, I couldn't resist a picture.

Sally and Malcolm's cabin from the back. What a gorgeous setting!

The guest cabin where Papa Paul and Grammy stayed. The rest of us had our accommodations in the main house. So comfy!

London with the front of the cabin behind her.

London posing with the frog.

Nature girl.

Our visit with Mama Addie (Paul's grandmother). Wait a minute, Kirby needs to take a call.

He says its the IRS calling again.

The next day, we headed out to Devils Tower in Wyoming.
It is really quite a sight. According to the info sign at the visitor's center, there are three theories as to how this formation was created. According to Indian Legend, a great bear, chasing after some Indian children, climbed the tower and carved the ridges into the sides with his claws.

It was so cold on our visit that it actually snowed! We all agreed we will be visiting again in warmer temperatures. We wanted to follow the trail all the way up but the weather was just too miserable and we were poorly dressed.

London at the base of Devils Tower. No, she doesn't have to pee, she's just posing - as usual.
******************************
We headed out for home the very next day. We stopped at the famous Wall Drug in South Dakota for lunch and photo ops.

My two trail-blazin' pioneers.

Kirby and Grammy Mary inside Wall Drug. They play this game where they pretend to be talking to each other on the phone.

London said she wanted a picture with the "pretty lady". "Lady" being generous term.

Yee-haw!!

Having some fun.

After lunch, we headed out on the trail again passing through The Badlands.

The kids got to see several wild animals on this trip including:
Groundhogs.

Wild turkey (these were in the backyard everyday).

Wild turkey at Devils Tower.

Several sightings of deer in the backyard, at Devils Tower and just along the roadside on our travels. We also caught a glimpse of some wild buffalo but weren't able to get any shots.
One more of London doing her thing!
